EPISODE 96: The Wildest Man You Have Never Heard Of: Thomas Morton

History on Fire

CHAPTER

A Brief History of Morton Gorge

Morton was working for Ser Ferdinando Gorge, a man who would have a keen influence on the rest of Morton's life. In 1622 he made the journey across the ocean to scout the lands in North America for his boss. He then left England again, this time for good. Later, Puritan sources would suggest that he did so because he was accused of murder. But it's almost certain that this was Lander, since there's no evidence or legal proceedings against him regarding the murder case.
