The scene at the Hager's property really didn't give a lot of evidence to work with technicians. Technicians did make a cast of a tire track that was found like in the gravel driveway leading away from the property. Because the victims had been transported across county lines, the case was also taken over by Indiana State Police. The Speedway Police and Johnson County Sheriff's Department were actually kept away from the scene while it was secured by state troopers.
