I wonder if there was something in journalism at the time too that like nobody wanted to write the article that was like, Hey, let's all slow down. Tonya Harding has like a long history of abuse. She's a complicated person. Why didn't anyone say that? But incentives in media are sort of like, you can't defend a person like that once the pile on has begun. Because it was like anyone who had ever met her was getting interviewed.
