The Evidence for a Real Arthur
Modern historians are saying there may be some evidence for a real Arthur. What is this evidence? Does it stand up in court? Well, it mostly amounts to one line and a scrap of manuscript that says there was a battle at which Arthur and Mordred fell. So we don't know where or why, or what they were fighting over. But that does mean that we're confident that there was a war leader in the sixth, seventh century who may have been called something like Arthur. The persistent notion,. now this is probably leisure, is that somewhere on the Celtic fringe after the Roman forces are gone and it's hold on this country had fallen apart, so this country had falling apart.
