The evolution of social media platforms has lent itself to a blurring of the lines between fact and fiction. It inevitably gives rise to fake news, native facts, and its fertile ground for cults and conspiracy theories. i think that tiktok's algorithm and its idioformat is difficult to say whether or not it's completely unprecedented. But what we can see are that conspiracy theories and misinformation are able to go viral on tiktak at a rapid speed and to a very large scale.
