The rarer sex is the more valuable sex. If there's more women, they have to show more skin to try to get catching men keep them. And if there's more men, then men have to act a little bit more jealous and mate guarding. The surplus of women occurs especially strong in New York but also in places like Los Angeles and other big cities.
