The idea that effort needs to be reconsidered as a concept or like re-understood thought of in a different way because of this. The whole thing about self-esteem also is definitely something that can't really be easily transplanted cross-culturally. So the idea of showing errors or not in public, if you... I think this would certainly apply in a British school as much as it would apply in an American school. That you wouldn't get a child up to the board who was the worst child in the class to try and solve a problem. And there would be no sense of stigma, there'd be no psychological problem around these things.
