The Importance of Dual Coding Theory in Multimedia Learning

There is a thing called dual coding theory. It's got to do with looking at pictures, and multimedia learning. You can't focus on text and listening to speech at the same time. If you had lots of pictures on the screen, you could flip your attention between them. But if somebody puts up a picture or a video and speaks over it, then that's completely fine. So you can actually focus on looking at something and focus on listening to words at the Same Time.
