What Are the Lessons for AVs?
Don't presume that you know what the issues are. This is why it's a democratic question. People always worry about safety. People worry about who owns the technology, who's going to benefit from the technology. If these things are being tested on my roads, then if I can see a benefit from that testing, then I'm much more likely to go along with them. But if there's an experiment happening on my doorstep that is putting me at potential risk and the beneficiaries seem to be some rich tech guys in Silicon Valley, then I'll think, well, isn't that fair?
