The History of the Quran and the Book of Mormon

How can we discount the accuracy of other religious works such as the Quran or the Book of Mormon? How is the New Testament different? So this is moving us into more of a question about the historical basis for other religious beliefs. And if we're prepared to take the New Testament documents seriously about Jesus, why not equally apply the same rule to the Quran, Muhammad and Jesus Smith?
