The Value of an Outsider's Perspective on the Markets
Moody's and S&P used language that most people can't read, but it was incredibly clear to an outsider. The entire asset class of residential mortgage-backed securities were based on a single assumption. And if that assumption were to be violated, then everything was going to come crashing down. That sort of outsider's perspective allowed us as investors to do well for our clients.
