How to Increase Competition in the Retail Grocery Industry
The competition bureau reported that Canada's three largest grocery giants, law laws, sobies and Metro brought in $3.6 billion in profits last year. That's up 50% over four years as food prices have been climbing. "It raises the question of how we increase competition in any part of an economy that is highly reliant on a small number of players," says David Frum.
