The Overmedicalization of Society
We just don't really talk about death very well as a society here. And that takes me on to the whole over-medicalization of society, which again, and I've thought about this a lot. Every doctor will have patients they're aware of who are having a horrible last few years of their life with loneliness or with disability. The temptation to treat them medically was overwhelming. But an awful lot of what we do actually is far more societal.
