The US Bishops Speak About Racist Symbols

In their 2018 pastoral letter, open wide our hearts, the US bishops speak about racist symbols. The reappearance of symbols of hatred such as nooses and swastikas in public spaces is a tragic indicator of rising racial and ethnic animus. It doesn't matter what the individual waving the Confederate flag thinks about that flag. What matters is that the flag has been associated with some evil by some people. Therefore no good people can ever be associated with it. End of discussion.
