Alan Ball wins for original screenplay and I like Alan Ball he does six feet under for HBO which is a very good series but it is a minor crime that Charlie Kaufman doesn't win for being being John Malkovich. The film is officially written by Charlie and Donald Kaufman so the academy even though Donald Kaufman doesn't exist the academy had to nominate him also. It's true because you know obviously in the film it's Charlie Kaufman and then Nicholas Cage also plays Donald Kaufman who doesn't exist and so to continue the joke or the you know the thematic if you like they put him in a position to be quite funny.
