Introduction
In the Old Testament, they use the idea of justice and righteousness as the very purpose of what the covenant people of the Lord are here to do. We're here to make the world a better place. And this is what the Lord is trying to teach through Amos to the people of the Northern Kingdom of Israel. They were rescued from Egyptian slavery so that you would feel what real love is like. It's not just about wicked righteous, the sheep and the goats. It's about serving people.
