After leaving the religion, she had a hard time getting her life on to a financially stable track. She decided to move to New York City where it was easier for her to start over again. But when she went back to work after taking materney leave with her son, he died of an undiagnosed heart condition. "It's like you're a part of something bigger than you," says Saruja about motherhood.
