Equality of Opportunity Is Getting Worse, Right?
The number of good new jobs in our economy is not growing as fast as it used to. Not much can be done about that without faster growth, he says. In a society where there are very large regional inequalities, both of these go together. This is an environment in which social mobility, income ability in particular, is reduced and all the evidence we have is that in relatively unequal countries like ours and the US, social mobility is less.
