John Wick: A Film About Grief
John Wick kept its 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes for a long time. The first 30 minutes before anybody's drop besides his wife from cancer is this kind of beautiful meditation on grief. It feels like an independent movie that then becomes a full blown, you know, action film. Yes, it's gritty. But the ending is happy. He rescues a pity.
