How well you wake up the next day has nothing to do with how much sleep that you get relative to the standard population recommended average. The second part is that it's also about your food and expressly your breakfast, which can influence alertness. Some people just seem to have crazy energy levels each day while other people find they don't. And what we find is that breakfasts that contain slightly higher amounts of fiber and fat but low amounts of sugar are predicted a far superior ability to stay awake every day.
