i often find that i am a distracted by my side bar or other things that, you know, might come up. And so taking myself away from that can be helpful. Exat and mind mapping great for that. The other toolt i use, because i have the same problem if i open omnifocus to capture a tusk and go start seeing other tusks and getting distracted, is use short cuts.
