The Story of the Early Church

Suffering is a central theme throughout the new testament. The apostles were flogged for speaking in the name of jesus and let go. Paul claims that just as suffering was the pathway to glory, so for us, suffering is the pathway to Glory. We also glory in our sufferings because we know that suffering produces perseverance, perseverance, character, character, hope. And hope does not put us shame, because god's love has been poured into our hearts through the holy spirit.
