In the early, earliest wars between empires, they were like the most important guides on the battlefield. Alexander the great basically won the war and conquered the world because the king of persia ed out twice and ran away from the battlefield. In those pre modern battles, people didn't die when the armies first met. The real dying happens when one side gets scared and breaks and n they just run down like dogs.
