Derek Colstad's Scorn
A writer by the name of Derek Colstad, who didn't have too much profile in Hollywood at that point, was doing promotional duties for one or two movies that he'd been writing. In April 2013 just months after the script had sold that Keanu Reeves agreed to start in the film. Eva Longoria is listed as a producer on the film due to the fact that she put in some of the funding to help make the movie happen. She wasn't an active producer but she wrote a check as the directors of the director and writer acknowledge that helped get this towards production.
