The characters are more distinct than fleshed out, but I didn't feel like they were too shallow. It's like that you could tell them apart and then probably subsequent books zoom in on the individual more than others probably. They each get a moment or two. You can imagine how some of those characters would react to situations that didn't even happen in the book. Now that's not necessarily to say that they contain multitudes.I don't think that breeze is particularly deep as portrayed in the book or Hammond,. But they are drawn specifically enough that I can imagine them bouncing off each other in a bunch of different scenarios.
