Is Science Playing the Long Game?

Science is moving a little bit too much towards like quarterly report, corporate cycles. The people are focused on more but, you know, conservativets. People don't want to spend money and then not know that some science is going to come out of it. i'm more in favor of the sort of undetermined, long game funding.
