Your More Time Is Not in the Future Tense
In a death phobic culture, your more time has been granted to you and is now being lived out in the discernible shadow of the fact that you're dying anyway. Your job might be to take your cue from dying, not to ignore all the cues and equate that with living. I can't think of something more intimate than dying, especially dying well. This is a question of knowing who has come, who's sitting at the foot of your bed. And with some degree of courage, and let me be frank, that's exactly what it takes. But it wouldn't be bad if with that courage came a lifelong preparation or deep understanding that these days were part of your allowance.
