The Story of Anne Lister

Anne lister was born in halifax, west yorkshire, on april third, 17 91. Her parents were jeremy lister and rebecca battle. Anne's father had served with the british in the american revolutionary war. And anne was one of six children, four boys and two girls. The listers were part of the landed gentry. Apart from not having to work, anne's immediate family didn't have much money of their own. When she left for boarding school in 18 o four, it was her aunt anne who was paying her way.
