The Rise and Fall of Infosys

For 10 years Infosys was being held back by India. In 1988 there were only about a thousand computers in the entire country compared with tens of millions in America. But suddenly in 1991 everything changed. The government liberalised India's economy in 1991. Freeing companies like Infosys from restrictions and regulations it released the brakes. Indian technology leapt forward decades in only a few years. Bengaluru leading the charge and its engineers were the envy of the world. Then on the 11th of March 1999 Infosyswas listed on the NASDAQ, the American Stock Exchange cementing its reputation as one of the world's leading tech companies.
