Jane, Anna and Grant Beaumont went to the beach on Christmas Day. Their parents Nancy and Jim were worried they had lost track of time or been involved in an accident. Police officers searched their house but found no trace of them. The family filed a missing persons report with Glenelg police station at 5.30pm. An abduction involving three children was unheard of before this case.
