Gay Conversion Therapy and Gender Suspension

Every major religious body in my state of Victoria supported in principle a ban on harmful, somewhat primitive and even cruel gay conversion therapies. The problem was the Daniel Andrews government supported a definition of gender suppression that was so incredibly broad. It alarmed medical community because it meant a psychologist, psychiatrist or a physician, if they questioned a person's self diagnosis of something like gender dysphoria, could have been interpreted as an act of suppression. They did thankfully in the end amend the legislation, but let me just mention some things by why this legislation is concerning.
