I Will Make a Helpmate for Him, or a Helper for Him.
The word eser is used, i think, around 23 times in the hebrew bible. It's referring to god as a 'helper', not an assistant. The woman was made out of Adam's side and then fell into his arms when she ate the fruit that tempts the man. Ray says this isn't like creating some kind of matriarchy or male-dominated hierarchy.
