"I didn't have a phone for five months. I couldn't get stressed out over, you know, missing a deadline or just like, I didn't have to worry about anything in the outside world," she says. "It's hard to have that perspective when you're dealing with a lot of really painful stuff emotionally and coming face-to-face with whatever your issues are." She also misses not having responsibilities at her new job as an author.
