The History and Future of Flight Attendants
The history of the conditions for flight attendants is checkered with all kinds of sexism through the 1970s and 80s. Flight attendants had age limits, had to retire by 32; even before that time, they were not allowed to get married. And then it became a job that was sexualized. It wasn't really until the Me Too movement that we got to really talk about the fact that flight attendants had never been recognized with any kind of respect whatsoever in our industry.
