Neurogenic Shock and Spinal Shock

Spinal shock is a syndrome with a temporary loss of neurological function. Neurogenic shock typically occurs in patients with the T5 injury and above. Bradycardia caused by cervical spinal cord or high thoracic spinal cord disruption may require external pacing or administration of atropine. Atropine has not been shown to completely reverse neurogenic shock.
