The Importance of Spiritual Direction
Spiritual direction is an essential practice for discerning eaders. It emerged out of the catholic church, where it was assumed that people who were involved in caring for the souls of others would have some one overseeing the care of their own soul. So in some ways, it's really meant for leaders. And so i find, and i have found, that having a spiritual director is a great way for me to practise submission. I'm submitting to some one else's leadership,. When i'm in a leadership roll myself, to have a place where i submit to some one Else's leadership and guidance, it's so transformative for mit's humbling in the best possible way.
