The Westphalian Story and Why It's False

The peace of westphalia concluded the 30 years war in europe in 16 forty eight. Story goes that it brought into being an international system of equal and sovereign states, each with indefeasible right to govern itself as it wished. But this story is entirely false according to Am. The negotiators of the peace embraced a variety of forms of political community - including some which included provisions for legitimate intervention by other contracting parties. And certain states acknowledged and acted on this international responsibility,. using it to justify their interventions or use it to urge others to act in response to particular cases of tyranny and especially religious persecution.
