Each team is unique and they're working on different emergent problems. Friction might be the amount o time taken away from them to do men during type work or code review work, or just the work load in general. So really, problems come down to the individual level. And to understand them, you need to look at the teams. Then then you can look halistically at the organization and what the patterns and major themes are.
