The Ironist Is the Metaphysician

i think it would be useful to define one of his terms that he continues to return to throughout the article which is ironism. He says that an ironist is someone describes the status of a person holding the axiom set out in the first three chapters. When they fulfill these three things they have a radical in continuing doubt about the final vocabulary that they currently use. They realize that arguments phrased in the present vocabulary can neither underwrite nor dissolve these doubts. And then insofar as they philosophize about their situation they do not think that their vocabulary is closer to reality than others that it is in touch with a power not themselves.
