Is Monopoly a Good Board Game?

As a lonely kid, I think I played a lot of Monopoly games on me own. But ever since childhood, I've really honestly genuinely looked at it as this kind of evil thing. It just made families fight and people get into arguments. So much of the game is like, I don't win until you lose. This was one of the first looped board games.
