The Pilot's Shortage in the US Airlines
Hilleen: Major carriers are basically stealing pilots from the lesser regional carriers. Hilleen: We've been talking about this since 2014, but the pandemic accelerated it. He says when things started to recover, not only did you have to hire back the 10,000 that retire. But when you think about growth and you need roughly 5 or 6,000 pilots a year collectively for all airlines, you are hiring 14 or 15,000 pilots in 2022.
