The Role of the Judiciary in Democracy
The Council and Foreign Relations have decided to get involved in this debate because it's a debate over the role of the judiciary and democratic government. They conclude the debate in Israel as a discussion about matters that every democracy must decide, always seeking that delicate balance between majority of one minority rights. No system is right and none is perfect. So no side in these debates has virtue in its grasp. And this is what the state of Israel is currently very much a metaphorical war with itself over presently.
