What Are Income Producing Assets?

When most people hear income producing, they think immediately dividends. But I don't know if that's what you are necessarily implying or if there's a larger extent to it. If a stock doesn't pay a dividend, that doesn't necessarily mean it's not income producing. For example, Amazon, most of its life has basically just taken its earnings and retained them and reinvested them in the business. So yeah, for the most part, the income does not necessarily need to be given to you for it to be an income producing asset.
