If we want to limit global warming and not see some of the worst effects, we need to keep warming ideally to 1.5 degrees Celsius since pre-industrial times. To do that, the UN says we need to slash our emissions by 45% by the end of the decade. As it stands, it looks as though they're going to rise by 10%. So we're way off track.
