The Story of Orange Prince

Lynne Goldsmith gives permission for Vanity Fair to run the illustration based on her photo. The deal says it can only be used once in the November 1984 issue. Unbeknownst to Goldsmith, Warhol made 15 other portraits based on her photograph. Altogether, these works are known as the Prince series. When Warhol died in 1987, the rights to these works were transferred to the Andy Warhol Foundation for the visual arts.
