The History of Coffee in the Americas

Coffee wasn't just grown in Java and Indonesia, it was also produced in the Philippines. It brought a lot of money into the country until 1889, when a fungus called coffee rust ripped through plantations there. Over 80% of Filipino coffee crops were destroyed. We now make a trip over to the other side of the world to talk about how coffee ended up on that part of the world - and what happened once it did.
