I detest that damned book now. It was the only way i could cope with the vioe. I can't stand violence. And one feels so responsible putting an act of violence down on paper, you've created the act. You might as well have done it. Burgess only made, i think, a couple of hundred dollars he sold the rights. He didn't see any money for the for the rights. Although, of course, it made his book o internationally famous. Very interesting film. very difficult film.
