I think we're in the middle of a transition between two systems. I the cold war one that marvin described, but i think the new system is driven by the fact that depends what you think is driving the world. The three largest forces on the planet, the market, mother nature and moor's law, are all in a simultaneous nonlinear acceleration. And what that doing is stressing out strong countries and blowing up weak countries. Ah, and the countries that are blowing up first are all those whose borders are primarily straight lines.
