What Do the Human Remains Show?
Archaeologists found a total of 168 different people who were buried here over the course of a bit over a thousand years. A lot of the human remains show signs of serious injuries, like severely broken legs that didn't heal properly. The burials all took place around the same time of year, in late summer or early autumn. And hence, the archaeologists surmised that this was probably a nomadic or semi nomadic group that moved around seasonably and only lived by this pond during that particular time of year.
