The Problem With the English Word, Tempt
The Greek word used right here is the word perotzo. It's rendered in most of our English translations to tempt. Jesus will undergo this experience again, only this time it will be the religious leaders. The Pharisees are going to come to him and do this to him,. Now are they trying to get Jesus to do evil? No. They're doing something that really is captured by our English word, test.
